The Integra has an I4; the Z has a V6.
The Integra has a straight single shot airflow; the Z has two paths, and they criss-cross.
The Integra has either one turbo or two sequential turbos; the Z has two parallel turbos.
Not to mention the Z was Nissan's flagship at the time; the engineers and designers worked hard to make it its best, within reason. I really doubt the cost differences between an FMIC and SMICs are the reason they chose to go with the latter.
Pretty much everyone here knows that more power requires larger ICs. But you have plenty SMIC models to choose from that are larger than stock.
